  • HSBC Vietnam useless customer service

Expats or Locals please dont open accounts with HSBC in Vietnam. The customer service is woeful. My HSBC debit card has been used fraudulently online, it is clearly obvious this was not me as the purchases were made in the Philippines/on Philippine websites. I have even contacted the merchants myself and raised the issue and they have started a refund process. HSBC Vietnam does nothing, they do not refund the money and they constantly say that they will call back with updates - but never do. I have missed flights and multiple meetings owing to this issue. Additionally when I transfer... More...

This is the worst bank I have ever been to. I have POA for my elderly aunt so I do her regular banking. I realize her account is small but we were treated so poorly yesterday that I have to complain about it. The teller, Fran, DID NOT SAY A WORD to me or my aunt. How isn't that humanly possible. She was inept and rude. We said our 'good mornings' and 'thank yous' but Fran didn't utter a word! The tellers aren't kind but at the very least they manage to squeak out a 'morning' and a 'thank you' but this woman knew only to look at us... More...

  • HSBC - You Are Fired

If you are considering HSBC, don't consider it any further for the following reasons. - Complex internet banking procedures where you are continuously being asked to fill in documents and send this by mail (!) for approval. Yet, it takes around 5 documents before they even start to notice that you want to change. And, yes, with documents, I mean documents that need an envelope with a stamp and send by mail.. - Unskilled professionals; they do not know what you are talking about when asking questions about anything related to banking. I believe I had some trainees on the line. Not... More...

  • Reward points Not Awarded

I am really astonished at the pathetic and lackluster attitude of a bank like HSBC. The bank closed its operations in Pakistan without properly and authentically intimating its credit card customers. The bank handed over its operations to a local bank in a clandestine manner without properly settling its many Credit card holders. One fine morning I was asked by the local bank to immediately clear my outstanding against my Platinum card without any installments as per the agreed terms with HSBC. The whole process was torturous and I hold HSBC responsible for this. My accumulated reward... More...

Long & multiple tales of interaction with HSBC 1. No responses to SME banking customers requests including assistance in making payments for statutory taxes to government of India 2. No action on SME business banking account closure request 3. Charges debited after more than 6 months ... and without intimation 4. Multiple excuses for non action on requests 5. On threatening them with legal action, they simply close the bank account stating "AS REQUESTED BY YOU" TRULY, HSBC is meant only for financial frauds and not for normal business people More...

  • Secured then NOT secured Line Of Credit.

Filed a complaint with HSBC Bank Canada in 2011 with reference to ourselves having severe difficulties with paying our mortgage and LOC (line of credit). To cut a very long story short through 2 years we tried to sell our home in a declining housing market and taking into account we were repeatedly told we must pay down the mortgage and the SECURED LOC and large prepayment fee on our mortgage with realtors fees and legal fees meant we could not reduce our home in price in order to get a sale as we need to cover these costs. During a review of our 1st complaint the HSBC Branch Manager told... More...

  • HSBC Australia (Parramatta) Shocking customer service

I have had the worst experience ever. Went to the hsbc branch located in aust parramatta, I wanted to transfer some money to my other account in another bank. I was asked for 3 diff id's and security questions to my account. After Providing all the id's details to my account, the cashier called Harry (Asian Man) went to see the manager and come back to me. He started questioning me in a disrespectful manner. Here is what happened, he asked me why I transfer the money, where I got the money from, who the money bellongs to? • HSBC Bank Customer Service

I have banked with HSBC for about 20 years, most of that time as a premier customer, at their invitation, until this year I have not had a problem.....they have downgraded me from Premier, not as issue, but to cancel, first my debit card and then a credit card without notice is a step too far. The whole thing started when I attempted to purchase euros on line with my debit card, they stopped the card refused payment and I had to go into my local branch to prove my identity....this was done, then the downgrade.....then 2 cancelled cards, one credit and one debit card.....I am currently... • Frozen account

They did not follow the EIPA and the U.S. Department of the Treasury guidelines. n September 10, 2013 at 4 am PST my account was not frozen but by the time I went to the store at 9:40 am PST I could not pay for my items at Safeway. I called HSBC and they froze my account which was used for unemployment deposits from Washington state. I called the toll free number 800-975-4722 3 times and every time you will get a different person to help you. The first time I called, the person said there was a garnishment on my account and it had been frozen. I asked her to look into it because... More...

I became a customer of HSBC in 2006 as a Premier client! They issued me a Premier Master Card. I used it for 6 years and kept it in good standing. I took my cash out of the bank in 2008 0r 2009 but still kept using the Premier credit card since it had a large limit and i didn't have to carry several different cards with me.. Last August, without a proper warning, they downgraded my credit card account to a lesser credit card with less limit while i was still traveling overseas. • HSBC Bank worst customer service on this planet

I have had nothing but trouble and heartache with this bank. They have the worst customer service there is. No one knows what they are doing and no one can give you an answer regarding your account. I am a premier customer..which supposedly means better service at HSBC...but that has not been my experience since the beginning. No one wants to be accountable and no one wants to take the time to help the customer. I thought they were in a service business and that is what they are supposed to do. • Service and response avoidance

My account is with HSBC in Oman, but the regional office is as bad. Reason for saying this, is an accumulation of events. First, they cancelled the online banking without informing me (even they claimed to have done), leaving repeating transfers not being honored. To reinstate this, it took three weeks until I was able to make transfers, paying interest for late transfers at the oversea's banks. I am presetly in Europe for business and even explaining to them this fact, they asked me to come to one of their Oman branches!!!! Trying to call the Premier Account Agent in Oman is a waste... HSBC sent me a letter to inform me I would be getting my tittle ten days from the date the letter was sent out. I waited many weeks called, e-mailed get the same answer it will be there soon. On the letter they wrote to me only has three states listed informing you that if you live in Ohio, Texas or Florida the state or DMV will have your title. Well, it said nothing about Virginia. • Is this a Bank??

I have recently decided to give a try to this Bank. I spoke with the branch manager at the Jackson Heights Office. I'm the owner of a Psychotherapy Center and my concern was about: 1. If they clear checks in 24 hours. 2. If they do business loans. The answer to my first question was yes, and the answer to my second question was that the bank was providing with a 24/48 hours response to a business loan. I opened my account and noticed that the checks were taking 72hours to be cleared. (NY State checks, which is my branch state). I also applied to a business loan. After a month... More...

Second attempt (14th April)was rejected because the account number used was 10 digits, not 12 - why were these details not picked up by HSBC staff before the transfers were made? Bought a Victory Motorcycle a year and a half ago. Lost my job a year ago and fell behind 3 months. Paid crazy money to bring loan up to current plus all sorts of Repo costs even though it was not repoed. Original monthly was $150 per month. Cost me $1400 to keep from getting repoed. All of a sudden my monthly payment went from $150 to $250 per month. Tried forever to get someone on the phone who was not an overseas call center. Finally found out it was due to increase in interest rate but would go back after 6 months of regular on time payments. Been making my payments but got got a letter... More...

  • HSBC possibly the worst bank review

Our mortgage is with HSBC. We had always paid our mortgage on time. In October of 2010 we received a certified letter telling us that our property was going to be sold. We proved to them that we had made our mortgage payments but they had processed them to someone else's account. After 7 months and a lot of attorney fees they finally fixed the problem. Of course not after calling us 60 times a day to tell us our account was in default. Today I went to a local HSBC branch to cash a $4300 check that was made out to me and had come from another HSBC branch. They verified that the... More...

Most banks such as citi or bank of america will take money from your savings account and transfer it to use through your credit. NOT HSBC! • They're Trying to Close My Account W/O Notifying Me!

I have been a customer at HSBC Bank since 2009 and never had a problem with them until today. I opened a checking & savings account online through HSBC Direct (now HSBC Advance). Without notice on Tuesday October 5th, 2010, they placed notes on both accounts saying that they would be closed. This in turn froze my assets in both accounts and deactivated my cards so I couldn't make purchases, deposit or withdraw money from either account. • HSBC Passport Account

HSBC 'offers' a Passport Account if you are new to a country, without a local credit history. This is advertised world wide. What isn't advertised is that you are locked into a 12 month contract, and in the UK, this also results in a £8 a month fee for 'allowing' you to have a bank account. Having lived in 7 countries around the world, my perception is that the UK has to have one of the worst banking systems, and HSBC, as a world wide recognized bank, should not be allowed to fleece newly arrived individuals in this way, especially if a good credit rating... In the last 4 months they have lost 7 transactions all in excess of 1000 R.0. they have found 6 of them but one is still outstanding from Nov 19th. They have also made an unauthorized debit from my account from an internal HSBC terminal. customer services will only send automated messages. Disgusting for an international banking institution.

HSBC India's service is pathetic. The services of nationalised banks are much better. Try complaining to the Nodal Officer based at Chennai. The Nodal Officer's name is given on the HSBC website to fool you into thinking that you will be writing to her. In fact she has a host of executives and officers and senior officers who act as a barrier to prevent any problem from getting through to her. These folks are incompetent, inefficient and totally dishonest, apart from being bureaucratic. As soon as you write to the Nodal officer, very promptly you will receive an automated email thanking you for writing to her and that you will hear from them in 5 days. Then the delaying tactics begin. They will keep asking you for information bit by bit or give you the required information bit by bit. And everytime you reply to their email you receive another email thanking you for writing to the Nodal officer and informing you that it will take 5 days to reply to you. Seen the most original way of frustrating the customer until he gives up ? Surely, HSBC has devised a most original way of keeping the "troublesome" customer at bay. Perhaps the Ombudsman and the RBI should take note of this. When you ask for the email address of the Nodal Officer, you are informed that according to banking norms they cannot divulge the contact details of the bank officials. Makes you wonder then why the Nodal Officer's name is put up on the websitek, if you are not allowed to write to her directly. Banking Ombudsman and RBI pls take note. HSBC service is a myth.
