HSBC India's service is pathetic. The services of nationalised banks are much better. Try complaining to the Nodal Officer based at Chennai. The Nodal Officer's name is given on the HSBC website to fool you into thinking that you will be writing to her. In fact she has a host of executives and officers and senior officers who act as a barrier to prevent any problem from getting through to her. These folks are incompetent, inefficient and totally dishonest, apart from being bureaucratic. As soon as you write to the Nodal officer, very promptly you will receive an automated email thanking you for writing to her and that you will hear from them in 5 days. Then the delaying tactics begin. They will keep asking you for information bit by bit or give you the required information bit by bit. And everytime you reply to their email you receive another email thanking you for writing to the Nodal officer and informing you that it will take 5 days to reply to you. Seen the most original way of frustrating the customer until he gives up ? Surely, HSBC has devised a most original way of keeping the "troublesome" customer at bay. Perhaps the Ombudsman and the RBI should take note of this. When you ask for the email address of the Nodal Officer, you are informed that according to banking norms they cannot divulge the contact details of the bank officials. Makes you wonder then why the Nodal Officer's name is put up on the websitek, if you are not allowed to write to her directly. Banking Ombudsman and RBI pls take note. HSBC service is a myth.
